This year was probably the most fun and hardest working year that i have ever had. We had a lot of homework and a few big assignments but it was a very fun year as well. We went Kayaking and Hiking on bowen island, we went rope sliding course, aquarium, we went to the sledge hockey and wheel chair curling at the vancouver paralympics. and we are going to the PNE tomorrow. I can not wait until our field trip to the PNE tomorrow which is an amusment park in Vancouver British Columbia. The Kayaking trip and Hike on Bowen island was lots of fun i went double Kayaking with my Best friend nolan and did a face plant on the hike that was hilarious. This year was the most exciting year of all time we had funny and energetic teachers who was always making jokes and playing with us.

This Monday we went to the high school which I will be going to next year to see what is like. We were matched up with a grade eights who used to go to our school. I was matched with a kid called Trevor with a person from my class. He showed Rex and I almost every room in the school. He also took us into his class to show us what it is like in a grade 8 classroom. Then after that he took us to the grade 8 cafeteria where all the grade 7′s from my school met up. The grade 8 counselor thentalked to us about what the first couple weeks will be like in grade 8 and what the scheduleis. She also told us also about sports and clubs that will be in grade 8 such as spring football, rugby, volleyball for the girls and cross country. In the classroom that we watched they were learning about air compression. The teacher in the classroom was really nice and kept telling us about how easy it will be in grade 8 and  how much she will make sure we know what we are doing. She said that she will go over it tons of times.

The last couple of weeks have been great i have gotten back some projects and some work we have started some new units and everything so far has been going well. The new units we have started are pre algebra in math, Learning about, alcohol, taboaco and drugs in c.a.p.p which stands for career and personal planning. We have also started Poetry in Language arts we have already done a found poem wich i paragraph or two we got from a book we own and then making a poem out of it. A poem using similes about the 5 senses taste, hearing, sight, touch and smell and the four season winter, summer, autumn and spring. We have done some work with metaphors and the couplets. We also just finnished two poems to do with diamante poems. In c.a.p.p so far we have only been learning about alcohol and alcohol awarness and have just started a powerpoint about binge drinking and how it can effect your body. In pre algebra we have done one step equations and two step equations. In art at the moment we are drawing egptian art and how there drawings of the human body were done with the feet pointing sideways, the body facing the front and the head pointing sideways. I think art is my favourite subject because my teacher Ms.Wilson lets us talk during art as long as we still keep on topic which i sometimes don’t. Are school is about to start a big fair called MAYFAIR which happens every second year. Which has tombola jars which are jars full of candy in which you spin a wheel with the number of one of them to get one. MAYFAIR has some rides and some games as well. The last couple of weeks for me have been great.

This week was great i handed in all my homework on time and i finally got the portal working for me. The things i enjoyed the most were having an actual understanding on what happens with our new unit in math to do with integers. The even more awesome thing is that the paralympicsare starting tonight and my school gets to go to some of the events. The events where going to are wheelchair curling and the gold medal game for sledge hockey. Which grade 4-7 at my school are going to. This week i have also been learning about root words and there connection and prefixes and suffixes. The only bad thing that happened this week for me was starting our new P.E unit Gymnastics. I’m a boy and i normaly love P.E but gymnastics is so boring. I  also did well on my french getting 12/15 and didn’t hilmiliate myself. Also i made lots of progress in Tech Art where we are learning how to make slides about people using green transportation. Also another bad thing was that my teacher was away all week with an ear infection. So Overall there were more good things then bad things this week.

Silent Day is to raise awareness for children in Africa who don’t have a say in life. Schools across Canada are also going to be participating in this unique event too. The grade 7′s at my schoolare trying to raise enough money to buy two wells for an african community. Each well costs $1500 so we have to raise $3000 for the two of them. I am Silent day is just one of the ways were going to try and raise money in order to get those two wells built. I am silent day is today friday the 20th of november. We have been spliting the day into 7 blocks. The first block and the last block were optional i chose to do those blocks. In order to raise money you were to get sponsored by a friend or relative. I got sponsored by my mom she’s paying me $7.15 for each block that i am silent. So far i have raised $35.75 i am only 10 minutes  away now from $42.90. Hopefully i will reach my goal of getting $50.05 thats how much i will get if i do all 7 blocks.

I think the aquarium was very fun and seeing or the wild animals and hearing about what the staff had to say about conservation was great. I loved the belugas and the dolphins they were great and very energetic. I loved seeing the sloths and the tour in the tropic zone was so much fun learning about the animals bones and what that animal or plant is used for in terms of assesories and food like the crocodile shoes. I also loved learning about what tips they had to give us about conservation. The facts i learnt today were so fascinating thank you Ms. Wilson for setting this field trip up.

Elaine morgan in the 1900 started the theory of humans being decended from an aquatic ape. I disagree with the theory that we decent from an Aquatic ape. I disagree because it doesn’t make much sense to why we would be descended from an aquatic animal. I believe more in the fact that we are descended from apes and that we just built blubber on are own from farming and eating to much and that humans just like any other animal learnt the ability to swim like on our own. I also do believe that we might get somethings from apes and somethings from aquatic animals.

This Halloween i am either going to a b.c lions game with a kid from my class or go trick or treating with 9 friends. This year at my school there were lots of costumes it is a tradition at my school to go on the friday before Halloween in your costume this year i made a pak with my friend that we would wear are football jersey to school. Which him and me are on the same local football team. But if i actually go trick or treating instead of too the football game i will wear my whole uniform and fake a broken leg or arm or something.
